My 5 minute story... for JMT LIve Event...

My calling in this life is to be a voice for people like Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, my cousin and many veterans. These people are no longer here so why does it matter? Well it matters because people just like them who struggled with mental illness waited too long to get help and when they thought of suicide, they eventually did it. It matters because you never know when someone you are sitting next to might look happy all the time but inside they struggle with crippling anxiety, depression, postpartum psychosis or some other mental illness to the point where they might think of killing themselves. That someone was me.

After having my 1st child 8 years ago I struggled with postpartum mental illness and never got help, then with my 2nd and 3rd child, never got help and I struggled and struggled almost alone... until finally 2 years after my 3rd child, in 2016, I was taken to the hospital by my husband and spent 3 weeks in a mental hospital to finally get the help I needed. Before... it...was...too...late!

See, I was a career woman working mother of 3 amazing kids and I am supermom, wonderwoman, spider woman and you couldn't stop me or tell me I couldn't handle the stresses of life and all the hormonal changes in my body or the anxiety i faced from being overwhelmed or the ptsd i had from being sexually assaulted. I was supposed to just suffer in silence, sweet it under the rug, and continue on being miserable... until i didn't have to anymore!

In therapy one day, it finally clicked- my purpose in life- it was to prevent at least one other person from being scared to get help out of fear of being stigmatized by society. If i came out with my story and people can see how i not only got better but i continued my successful career and continued to be an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, consultant and life coach, then maybe he or she would be inspired to get help, get past their bump in the road, find their own true purpose in life and live a happy and successful life. So now I use my 4 year old blog "momohlogue" to encourage others, and I hope today you feel empowered by any hardship you faced because you gotta know that you can overcome and life is always, always, always worth living!

I am a mother of now 4 beautiful daughters ages 8, 5, 4, and 2 months. I have over 10 years of professional executive experience in Leadership development and human resources. I also have over 20 years of service industry related experience. I obtained my masters in Organizational psychology from Hofstra university on Long island ny. As working a full time job while raising 4 small children was too time consuming, i decided to launch my own consulting and coaching business so i can make my own hours and impact more lives with my calling in life. My niche market is working mothers who want to grow professionally, advance their careers while also balancing family life. And since I been in their shoes and still am, I can relate most to this audience. However, I can help anyone with a goal and a dream. Because if I can do it despite my adversity and disability, then anyone can do it! I hope to grow my business and get my first customers very soon!

Peace and Love.
