food talk- Korean beef lettuce cups

This easy recipe is full of unique flavor and will make any lettuce come to life.

Its low carb too!

Hope you enjoy!

5 cloves of garlic finely chopped:

1/3 cup of brown sugar:
 5 scallions chopped:
Fresh ginger grated- I used about 1/2 cup:
 onions and more scallions
 sesame oil- 2-3 tsp
1/2 cup of soy sauce- next time id use low sodium because it did come out pretty salty:
2 tbsp of sesame seeds that I toasted:
korean spice mixture,  red pepper (I didn't need salt or pepper)
about 1 pound of ground beef. The leaner the better if you can find it!
brown the beef in the pan, sprinkle some Korean seasoning on the meat, drain excess grease. Then add the ginger, garlic, and brown sugar...cook for 2 minutes. Add the onion, half of scallions and soy sauce. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Clean your lettuce and dry:
Plate the beef mixture over lettuce,  add scallions and toasted sesame seeds.

This was so flavorful and different! Very easy too. You can eat with whatever lettuce you want or have over brown or cauliflower rice.

Definitely use low sodium soy sauce though and get lean ground beef... or you could use ground chicken.

Enjoy!
