Importance of Attending Conferences- Network, Grow, Stay Relevant, Lead

I am looking forward to attending another Masie learning conference in 2019. Although this conference is not for another 10 months, the preparation starts now. I think I have important things to share at this conference, as I did in 2011 and look forward to the potential platform to engage,  inspire,  and educate other people on the importance of occupational health in the workplace and the role learning plays in bringing awareness to mental health issues. More employers need to be educated on how to treat high potential talent who have a disability. I plan on creating a proposal and send to the conference organizers. Wish me luck!

In 2011, I was part of this conference as a Top 30 Under 30 in the field of Learning and Development. I wrote an article which I include below. I did not make the conference in person due to personal issues at home with my husband but the organizers were kind enough to still include me.

The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins- an anxiety and panic attack sufferer turned author... 2nd author review for Women's History Month

Mel Robbins, another talented female author, used to suffer from anxiety and had panic attacks on a regular basis. Her solution in the book 5 Second Rule is to reframe your thinking and tell yourself that you are excited instead. I wanted to highlight her book because she is a Life Coach like me and she suffered from mental illness and has been successful... hopefully I will be successful like her.
